Oct 05, 2010

The Commonwealth Games have started and how! Abhinav Bindra and Gagan Narang gave India its first gold in the 19th Commonwealth Games by winning the 10m Air Rifle pairs. The pair scored 1193 to break their previous record of 1189 set four years ago in Melbourne.

The second gold followed soon after. Anisa Sayeed & Rahi Sarnobat bagged the women's 25m Pistol title after defeating Australia

Abhinav Bindra (Shooting, 10 metre air rifle) had ended India's quest for the country's first individual Olympic gold medal in Beijing 2008. Bindra has not competed in many events since but fans were expecting him to hit the bull's eye again. He is also one of the Games brand ambassadors.
