Kapil Sibal not fit to be minister: Anna Hazare

August 05, 2011

After Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh another Congress leader has incurred the wrath of social activist Anna Hazare.
This time Hazare has slammed Human Resource Minister Kapil Sibal [ Images ] for sabotaging the Lokpal bill by not bringing a good bill before the Parliament.

Speaking to reporters on Friday from Ralegan Siddhi, Hazare said that Anna was not fit to remain as minister.

"Sibal is not fit to be a minister, if he would have been a good minister then he would have brought a better bill (Lokpal).
Ministers like Sibal are damaging the country," said Hazare. He accused Sibal of not having 'good' intentions about the Lokpal as he was bent on sabotaging it from the beginning.

Hazare attributed the smear campaign against active members of the civil society to Sibal who wanted the civil society to be discredited before the eyes of the people.
"He has been spreading lies and falsehood since day one. Prashant Bhushan and his father Shanti Bhushan were deliberately targeted through the fake audio CD.
Even former Karnataka Lokayukta Santosh Hedge was targeted. He even tried to snoop on me with an objective to get some leverage," alleged Hazare.

Hazare said that several persons were assigned the job to find out how many properties he held. "I stay in a temple and neither have I accumulated any wealth.
He (Sibal) can keep looking, but he will not find anything against me," said Hazare.

Before Sibal, it was Congress leader Digvijay Singh who had irked the social activist when the latter tried to link the civic society movement to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
Hazare had then said that Singh should be sent to a mental asylum.
