New Delhi, Apr 15: Minister of State for External Affairs Shashi Tharoor may have to explain his stand regarding the IPL controversy in Lok Sabha on Thursday, Apr 15.
According to reports, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has asked Tharoor to give his statement in Lok Sabha on the issue.
On Wednesday night, Apr 14, Mukherjee had summoned Tharoor to listen to his side of the story. The meeting was also attended by Defence Minister and senior Congress leader AK Antony.
The Opposition is also demanding resignation of Tharoor in the wake of the IPL controversy.
However, according to sources, no assurances were given to Tharoor.
A final call on Tharoor's future in the UPA government would be taken after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is back in India.
Singh has already indicated that Tharoor would not be spared if there is evidence against him.
