Guruvayur: Chief minister of Maharashtra Ashok Chavan has gifted an elephant to the Lord Krishna's Guruvayur temple on Saturday. As no new elephants will be accepted by the Guruvayur Devasom Board, an elephant from the Annakotta, had been offered to the deity.
According to the Devasom Board, there are already 65 elephants in the Annakotta and no new elephants are accepted, Hence, by giving Rs 5 lakh, an elephant from the Annakotta was brought to the temple to fulfill the vow.
